“WHERE” questions Task Cards for ABA and Speech Therapy

In the third flashcard set on “Wh” questions, we feature questions that start with “Where”. These questions teach children about places we find and do things.

It is important that your child has substantial knowledge of places and locations. If not, you can start with places and locations flashcards first.

Why learn to answer “Where” questions

Learning to answer “Where” questions is a fundamental skill for academic development and for language and communication.

“Where” questions are as important as “Who” and “What” questions:

  • They help children develop conversation skills since conversations are mainly questions and answers.
  • They also enable children to collect information on their environment and the people around them.
  • They finally help children make connections between objects, places, actions, and people.

How to teach your child “Where” questions?

The flashcards (down this page) are a great way to teach children to ask questions about places. Flashcards have :

  • a question at the top
  • three pictures as options for the answer.

To teach your student/child to answer questions starting with “Where”, put the flashcard in front of him and ask the question on the top. The student should either name or point toward the right image.

For durable materials, use a laminating machine to laminate the pdf file and storage envelopes to store the flashcards.
