How to teach children to sort by size?
To introduce the activity of sizes, small, medium, and large to the child:
- Print and laminate the activity free pdf file (at the bottom of this page), then cut the different images,
- Present the images mixed in a tray or bin on the work table
- Ask the child to find all the pictures of a specific object, for example, the map, in the bin or tray
- Then ask which is smaller and which is larger or bigger.
- Ask the child to sort the images of a specific object from the smallest to largest on the appropriate page provided in the activity file below.
