To support the work done at school on the concept of classes/groups this fun activity in the form of a game will motivate your child to learn in n amusing way.
This type of activity is essential in the development of the sense of logic and intelligence of children in preschool and kindergarten. It will also serve as preparation for several other important concepts in mathematics.
This exercise includes 48 pictures that belong to 4 groups: Animals, Clothes, Furniture, and Food. To introduce this sorting activity to your child, follow these steps:
- Print and laminate the activity file (at the bottom of this page), then cut the different images
- Display mixed photos in a container on the desk or rug
- Ask the child to find all the pictures of animals, for example, then ask him to find all the clothes, then the house furniture, and finally the food.
The difficulty of the exercise can be adjusted according to the child’s level. For children who are novices, we start by presenting three pictures from two groups only.
